WHAT VIDYATECH DID?

Challenge

The customer wanted to migrate online knowledge base content in 12 locales to a new platform.

The complex migration drive had severe constraints, like the target technology was still evolving and there was little guidance on how-to-do. Sometimes, there were no models to follow.

Moreover, it was required that the migration process should use the minimal time of project sponsors and site owners. There should be minimum inconvenience and interruptions to site users.

Solution

Well-trained teams and automation tools were set up in no time to handle the migration of large volumes. It was ensured that teams and tools stayed in step with the evolving processes, proprietary tools, and site templates.

To ensure that the golden content was identified and migrated, we worked with project sponsors and coordinated with content owners. We consistently provided results and support to the content owners from different time zones across the world for smooth migration.

Results

Proprietary online knowledge base was migrated from legacy platform to new platform.

  • Completed migration of more pages than budgeted within the original timeline.
  • Fixed broken links in migrated content.
  • Redirected all old pages.
